Après un premier album axé sur la tradition du jazz des années 60, entre funk, swing et fusion, Solarium s’aventure dans de nouveaux territoires et des nouvelles sonorités avec leur prochain album «aube/nocturne» qui a paru au printemps 2023. C’est un florilège de 18 chansons éclectiques et audacieuses qu’ils proposent, oscillant entre des moments de hautes voltiges improvisées et des passages savamment composés et interprétés. On peut les entendre tantôt épris de la fougue du swing et de “grooves” qui frisent le rock, voire le métal, tantôt s’abandonner au lyrisme de mélodies doucereuses influencées par la chanson contemporaine et traditionnelle qu’on peut entendre au Québec. Bref, c’est une musique qui va de l’avant dans toute sorte de directions, mais avec des ancrages bien précis et surtout un dévouement profond au partage entre eux et avec le public sur scène.

After a first album focusing on the jazz tradition of the 60s, between funk, swing and fusion, Solarium ventures into new territories and new sounds with their next album "aube/nocturne", released in spring 2023. It's an anthology of 18 eclectic and daring songs, oscillating between moments of high-flying improvisation and skilfully composed and performed passages. We can hear them at times in love with the ardor of swing and grooves that border on rock, even metal, and at other times abandoning themselves to the lyricism of gentle melodies influenced by the contemporary and traditional songs heard in Quebec. In short, this is music that moves forward in all sorts of directions, but with very precise anchors and, above all, a deep dedication to sharing with each other and with the audience on stage.
